First and foremost, our goal is to create a safe space where people of all backgrounds can openly discuss their experiences of street harassment and know that there is a community out there that understands and takes their experiences seriously. We approach every interaction we have with our community members from a place of support, respect and empathy. We are not, however, in a position to provide professional support to those who reach out to us. If you are in need of immediate assistance, please contact one of the following organisations:

A free and confidential telephone counselling service for Australians aged 5 to 25 years’ old.

Provides counselling services 24-hours a day, 7-days a week to anyone who has experienced sexual assault or sexual harassment.

Queerspace

An organisation that is committed to the wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ community. They provide low to no cost counselling for a wide range of issues. Their office hours are from 9am-5pm, with out of hours counselling available on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. A Victoria-wide, confidential telephone crisis counselling service for people who have experienced both past and recent sexual assault operating between 5pm weeknights through to 9am the next day and throughout weekends and public holidays.

Women’s Information and Referral Exchange (WIRE)

An organisation that is run by women for women, non-binary, trans and gender diverse individuals. WIRE promises a safe, non-judgmental space for you to share your story and experiences. WIRE operates to provide service-users with generalist information, referrals and support. Their phone lines and online chat runs 9am-5pm, Mon-Fri. If contacting them outside of these hours, you can leave them a voice message for a call-back or contact them over email.

Provides anonymous and free LGBTQIA+ peer support and referral for people in Australia wanting to talk about sexuality, identity, gender, bodies, feelings or relationships between 3pm and midnight everyday.

An organisation that provides free online and telephone counselling to young people (aged 12-25). They offer group chat sessions or 1-on-1 sessions, led by experienced mental health professionals. 1-on-1 sessions are available 9am-1am (Melbourne time), 7 days a week.
