What I Wanted to Wear vs What I Wore

In What I Wanted to Wear vs What I Wore, Erin Lee Holland brings our Co-Founder and CEO’s Aakanksha Manjunath’s vision to life through images that perfectly capture the dilemma we often face in the morning when deciding whether to dress for ourselves or to instead focus on others’ potential perception and reaction to us.

Unpacking the everyday

Unpacking the everyday explores the all too familiar experiences of street harassment that so many of us put up with daily. Shot across the City of Melbourne, the posters feature the words we would all like to shout back to those who too regularly intrude on our lives in this manner.

Myths Debunked

In Myths Debunked, we tackle the problematic myths about street harassment that are still too frequently brought up whenever anyone voices annoyance and anger at these behaviours.

LGBTQIA+ series

The posters are centred around the testimonies of five individuals who kindly agreed to share their experiences of what it’s like to exist as a person of a diverse gender or sexual orientation in public spaces. Their testimonies remind us of the true complexity of problems like street harassment – particularly when you exist at the intersection of multiple marginalised identities.

My Experiences

My Experiences was developed in collaboration with Elisa Rodrigues. Shot by Nynno Bel-Air in busy locations across the City of Melbourne, these photos highlight how starkly instances of street harassment stand out and are felt by us while often going completely unnoticed by those who surround us daily. Through the use of body paint and the bold red colour worn by the models, this series is an attempt at combating the frustrating invisibility of this type of harm to so many despite the fact that it is always happening in plain sight.
